Report: Remy Cabella and Daryl Janmaat keen on staying at Newcastle

Newcastle United are set to make a number of changes to their team over the summer months.

Remy Cabella and Daryl Janmaat are both keen to stay at Newcastle United, according to a report in the Chronicle.

The duo have had a rude awakening to life in English football, with their first season at Newcastle not working out as well as hoped.

Cabella and Janmaat both joined Newcastle in the hope of competing in the upper echelons of the table, but found themselves having to endure a relegation battle.

It has seemingly not put them off staying in the North East, though, and they are both hoping to help the side build for the future.

Newcastle will be looking to make vast improvements next season and Cabella and Janmaat want to be a part of that project.

That will be a boost for the Magpies, but supporters of the club are likely to be happier to hear of Janmaat's commitment than Cabella's.

The Dutch defender has had an excellent first season in England, while Cabella has struggled to find form and the jury is still out on his ability to make a telling contribution in the English top-flight.
