The 1860 Munich starlet is set to remain in Germany next season.
Back in April the Daily Mail reported that Tottenham Hotspur were in the hunt for promising German talent Julian Weigl. The 19-year-old Germany under-20 international has been in fantastic form for 2.Bundesliga side 1860 Munich this season.
The report claimed that Spurs were eyeing up a €2.5 million bid for the player, which would initiate a release clause in his deal at 1860.
But reports in Germany today suggest Spurs can cross him off their wanted list.
They claim that Dortmund have met the €2.5 million release clause for the player and he will officially sign for the club before heading off to the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand this season.
Before that he also has to play in a crunch relegation play-off tie against German third tier side Holstein Kiel, in order to make sure his current club are not playing at the 75,000 Allianz Arena at a lowly level of domestic football.
After that, his move to Dortmund will be made official and Tottenham Hotspur will move on to other targets.
