Shane Ferguson has had a long wait to make his Rangers debut, and did so in the toughest of circumstances.
The Newcastle United loanee has been injured ever since his deadline day switch, but made his bow last night in the promotion play-off first leg against Motherwell.
The game at Ibrox did not pan out the way Rangers fans had been hoping or expecting.
By time Ferguson came off the bench in the 67th minute, Rangers were 3-0 down and seeing their dreams go up in smoke.
Rangers pulled a goal back through Darren McGregor in the final stages, to give themselves a lifeline heading into the second leg.
The Gers looked brighter with the introduction of Ferguson, who is a Northern Ireland international, and has played for Newcastle in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old does not have long left to salvage success from his loan spell in Scotland, but did manage to impress with his brief cameo, leading to fans demanding he starts the return leg.
