Manchester United media round-up: Van Gaal to sacrifice Hernandez in transfer market

A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester United.

The Manchester Evening News has reported that Manchester United will use Javier Hernandez as bait in the transfer market this summer.

The Mexican striker is back at the club following a loan spell with Real Madrid, but it doesn’t look likely that he’ll be given a chance under Louis van Gaal.

The report suggests that van Gaal could offer Chicharito as a part exchange player in any number of deals the club goes for.

The Daily Star has reported that Chelsea are the apparent favourites to sign Cristiano Ronaldo should he opt to leave Real Madrid.

The former Manchester United attacking star is routinely linked with moves away from the Bernabeu with the Blues the latest side thought to have an edge in the race to sign him.

Should he leave, United will have an advantage considering the position relationship Ronaldo still has with the club.

Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria has been included in the Argentina squad for the Copa America, as confirmed by the Daily Mirror.

The versatile attacking star struggled in his first season as an Old Trafford player, but seems to have done enough to retain his position at international level.
