Liverpool media round-up: Reds confident of signing Ings despite rival bid, trying to sell Balotelli

A selection of the latest stories involving Liverpool Football Club in the media this Thursday morning.

Liverpool remain confident of landing Burnley forward Danny Ings despite Tottenham making a £12 million bid for the forward, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Ings is out of contract at Turf Moor next month, but the Reds are reportedly still looking to sign him on a compensation fee. The Telegraph's article also indicates Liverpool will offload Mario Balotelli, along with Fabio Borini, this summer, despite comments made by Balotelli's agent suggesting he will stay at Anfield.

Mino Raiola told Sky Sports: "We had talks with Liverpool and he will definitely stay.

“I have spoken at various times to the club and they were happy with his input and professionalism. Obviously we have to improve the performance but I am really confident that will happen this year.”

Elsewhere, the Daily Mirror has run a story regarding the future of Raheem Sterling, suggesting that he may be joining former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez at Real Madrid.

Sterling's contract dispute at Anfield has been well documented, with the 20-year-old refusing to sign a new deal at the club, but Brendan Rodgers has said repeatedly that he expects Sterling to honour the two years that remain on his current deal.

The current Napoli boss is expected to be announced as the new Real Madrid boss next week according to the report, which also says Sterling has great respect for Benitez after the Spaniard brought him to Liverpool as a 15-year-old in 2010.
