John Hartson clarifies his stance on Celtic's interest in Nadir Ciftci

The Celtic legend took to Twitter to discuss the Dundee United forward.

Celtic legend John Hartson has clarified his stance on controversial Dundee United forward Nadir Ciftci.

Hartson has been quoted by the Herald as saying Celtic should sign the United man even if he is found guilty of biting if their interest in him is concrete.

The former Bhoys striker also compared the 23-year-old to another prolific Celtic icon in Chris Sutton, while comparing the situation itself to that of Barcelona with Luis Suarez.

However, Hartson has taken to Twitter to clarify his stance on the Dundee United man. Indeed, while he feels any ruling on 'bite-gate' should not affect a potential move for Ciftci, the now BBC pundit says he has 'never said' the Scottish champions should sign him.

Responding to a follower on Twitter, Hartson made clear that he isn't necessarily a fan of the young forward joining the Hoops - despite what he has previously said.

In response to the former Celtic striker on social media, there were some suggestions that boss Ronny Deila could turn Ciftci's career around, similarly to how he has done with Leigh Griffiths.

The 23-year-old, though, appears to be a man who will divide opinion whatever happens...
