Former Aston Villa star Cuellar and Tottenham Hotspur trainee Bunn among six released

Norwich City have released six stars after their return to the Premier League.

Norwich City have named six players they have released after their return to the Premier League.

The Canaries listed on their official website the players who will not receive a new contract.

They include former Aston Villa fan favourite Carlos Cuellar, who also had a short spell at Sunderland.

The 33-year-old was a fringe player for the club last season, making just eight Championship appearances.

Also cut was former Tottenham Hotspur trainee Mark Bunn, who previously played for Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City. The 30-year-old had been a dependable back-up to Norwich number one John Ruddy.

Former Leeds striker Luciano Becchio was also released after an injury hit season, which also saw him spend time on loan with Rotherham United.

Ex-Manchester City left-back Javier Garrido was also told his contract will not be renewed, having made only seven appearances this past season.

Under-21 players Kyle Callan-McFadden and Sam Kelly completed the six, with Norwich clearing space on their wage bill to bring in new arrivals to help them compete in the Premier League next season.
