The Dutch club have confirmed that Feyenoord and Ajax are not in the running for Dijks just yet.
The Scotsman linked Celtic with a £900k move for the Dutch left-back at the start of the month. Dijks, who can also play at centre-back, has played 27 times in Eredivisie this season.
However Celtic are not alone in their pursuit. Dutch rivals Feyenoord and Ajax are also said to be in contact.
Recently Ajax came to the fore as the favourites to sign him.
It was reported by De Telegraaf last week that Ajax had held talks with the player about a potential return to Amsterdam. The report claimed that Dijks could return to Ajax, with whom he played six games between 2012 and 2014, on a deal until 2018.
But Willem II have now confirmed that only one team has made a move for the player and that team is not from Holland.
Willem II technical director Carlos Aalbers is quoted by FR12 in Holland as stating:
“So far we have received only one official bid for Mitchell and that was from a foreign club.”
That would appear to be Celtic that have in fact made a move for the player - it seems that The Bhoys are ahead of the curve in the pursuit of the player.
