Haris Vuckic and Gael Bigirimana nearly completed moves to Motherwell during the January transfer window, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Motherwell had apparently arranged a deal for the Newcastle United pair, but it fell through at the last minute after the Premier League side pulled the plug on the transfer.
It meant that Vuckic and Bigirimana were both free to join Rangers instead, with the duo completing loan moves back in January.
During that time Vuckic has really impressed at Ibrox, becoming one of the key players in the Scottish giants' team.
The move has become more significant too, as Rangers take on Motherwell at the weekend, knowing that they can relegate the club that Vuckic and Bigirimana so nearly joined.
If Rangers beat Motherwell in the play-off final they will be playing in the Scottish Premiership at the expense of The Steelmen.
Vuckic has made 20 appearances for Rangers so far, scoring three times, while Bigirimana has had no impact and is still waiting to make his debut after arriving with a mystery illness.
