Report: Alan Pardew interested in bringing Newcastle's Andy Woodman to Crystal Palace

Alan Pardew

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is said to be looking for a reunion with Newcastle United goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman.

Alan Pardew wants to sign Newcastle United goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman for Crystal Palace over the summer, according to the Chronicle

Woodman and Pardew worked together at Newcastle and the 53-year-old was clearly impressed by the goalkeeping coach's work.

Woodman has been credited with helping out the likes of Fraser Foster and Tim Krul during his time at St. James' Park and Pardew apparently feels that he could be a valuable addition to his coaching team at Selhurst Park.

If Woodman does leave Newcastle it would be a further indication of the forward strides that Palace are making.

The Eagles have shown great ambition and they are aiming to make it into the top half of the Premier League next season.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are a club whose future looks far more uncertain. The Magpies have stood still for far too long and, even though they managed to avoid relegation on the final day of this season, there is still a great amount of frustration around the club.

If Woodman does join Palace he will link up with Julian Speroni and Wayne Hennessey, who are Palace's two senior stoppers at the moment.
