The Argentine thanked fans of the Canaries and wished the club all the best for the future. Norwich recently won the Championship play-off final and have therefore been promoted to the Premier League - but the 31-year-old won't share the journey with his now former club.
Thanks to all norwich fans for always supporting me. I wish all the best in the future! And also staff and my team mates.— Luciano Becchio (@becchioluciano) May 27, 2015
The news, though, could be of even more interest to Leeds United fans. Indeed, Becchio was signed by Norwich from Leeds and reports from the Yorkshire Evening Post in January linked him with an Elland Road return.
Such is the feeling towards Becchio that a Leeds fan snuck into a recent Massimo Cellino press conference and argued with the club's owner about why the Argentine wasn't brought back to the Yorkshire side.
Naturally, Twitter has already broken into discussion over whether Leeds should move to re-sign the 31-year-old.
But, as with the case of Jermaine Beckford, there are those who feel the Whites should be looking forwards not backwards.
Wherever Becchio ends up, though, his time with Norwich City is most certainly over - and he will likely get plenty of offers.
