Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil: I feel at home with Gunners

The Germany international has stated that he has always felt comfortable at the North London club.

Arsenal’s signing of Mesut Ozil has yet to reap maximum dividends, with the undoubtedly able attacking midfielder having an up-and-down time at the North London club over the last two seasons.

The Germany international has shown an impressive array of passing skills when on form, but has also suffered from injuries and dips in form during his time in North London.

Despite Ozil not always playing at his best in English football, the diminutive playmaker has been full of praise for his current employers.

The former Real Madrid man has stated that regardless of how things have been going for him personally, he has always felt at home at Arsenal.

“I always felt comfortable here,” Ozil is quoted as saying by the Arsenal official site.

“Yes, there were times when it was really difficult for me, but now everything is going very well.

“The team are successful and I feel so at home here because of the way in which I was received by the whole team. The boss gives me a lot of help too because he gives me his trust, and that helps me to feel happy at Arsenal as well.”

For Arsenal to fully live up to their potential and fight to put forward a Premier League title challenge, Ozil will need to be a key player and someone who inspires those around him.

The World Cup winner arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2013 with the reputation as one of the best playmakers in the global game but has yet to show consistent enough form to be deemed in that standard while on the Gunners’ books.

Staying fit and starting next season strongly will be key for the German to fully win over the Emirates Stadium faithful.
