Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is a managerial target for Newcastle United, according to a report in the Daily Star.
Newcastle are on the hunt for someone to take charge at St. James' Park after securing their Premier League future, and it is thought that Hasselbaink is on their wishlist.
The former Chelsea striker has impressed during his first job with Burton Albion and Newcastle seemingly feel he is ready to step-up.
Hasselbaink has guided Burton to promotion in his first managerial job and he seems to have the skill required to make a successful career as a manager.
If he does opt to move to Newcastle it will be a tough place to start his life in the top-flight, though, as the Magpies currently have so many issues.
Although Newcastle avoided relegation by beating West Ham United on the final day of the campaign, there are still a number of problems that need resolving and whoever takes over faces a tough test.
To hand the job to someone as inexperienced as Hasselbaink would be a risk, but it could be a gamble worth taking - as the 43-year-old seems to be one of the best young managers in the country.
