Newcastle United are set to make a number of changes over the coming months.
The Magpies are in desperate need of additions and Carver has already made it clear to owner Mike Ashley and managing director Lee Charnley that funds will need to be spent if they are to move forward.
It seems that the boardroom duo's reaction to this request has been a positive one too, with Newcastle set to make a number of changes over the summer transfer window.
“I’ve had the assurances from Mike and Lee that we’re going to invest in the summer," Carver said.
It seems unlikely that Carver will be in charge to make these changes after his disappointing spell as caretaker boss, but it will be encouraging for Magpies supporters to hear of the side's plans to invest.
Newcastle have been guilty of standing still for too long and they were almost punished for their lack of ambition this season.
The North East outfit nearly slipped out of the top flight and it seems that this relegation battle has been the wake-up call that the club needed.
Newcastle will now be looking to add a sizeable amount of quality to their squad, as they aim to get back to competing for a European place again.
