Manchester United duo have a common message for fans; goalkeeper ‘proud’

Victor Valdes

Manchester United have finished fourth in the Premier League this season.

Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at playing for the club.

Valdes joined United in the January transfer window as a free agent, having trained with the club prior to the move.

The former Barcelona star was able to make just two appearances in the Premier League this season due to the presence of David de Gea.

However, the 33-year-old is still pleased and has thanked the Red Devils fans for their support.

United defender Chris Smalling and goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard also took to Twitter after Sunday’s final game of the season to thank the supporters.

The trio assured the United fans that the players will return stronger next season.

United played out a goalless draw with Hull City away from home at the KC Stadium in their final game of the season on Sunday.

The result means that Louis van Gaal’s side have finished fourth in the Premier League this season with 70 points from 38 matches.
