Gerard Deulofeu admits to 'tough and difficult' season with Sevilla

The young Spaniard has struggled to make his mark with Sevilla manager, Unai Emery.

During the 2013-14 season in the Premier League with Everton, young forward Gerard Deulofeu excited fans at Goodison Park, with his electrifying performances, during his loan from Barcelona.

With Everton, Deulofeu played 29 games in all competitions, scoring just 4 goals, but it's his impact from the bench and creativity, which were highly regarded by Toffees supporters.

Whilst they hoped to see him return for another campaign, the Catalan giants eventually loaned the talented prospect out to fellow La Liga side, Sevilla.

However, via his official Instagram account, Deulofeu has offered mixed feelings about how the 2014-15 season has gone for him with Sevilla, admitting it has been: "A tough and difficult year for me."

The 21-year-old did though acknowledge: "But perhaps it's also the year in which I've learned the most."

On a more positive note, Deulofeu concluded: "There's still the Europa League final everyone is so looking forward to and we'll really go for that. Thanks to everyone for your support and above all, thanks to the people who have remained at my side."

During his spell this season with Sevilla, Deulofeu has played 28 games in all competitions, just one less than his spell with Everton, scoring three goals. However, he hasn't always seen eye to eye with manager Unai Emery, or felt the same level of importance he felt he had, during his season in the Premier League.

Needless to say, his message on Instagram was instantly met with lots of comments from Everton fans, who still recall his time wearing their famous blue shirt, and urging him to return next season.

Many Evertonians have also taken to Twitter over recent days, clearly keen to see him back, if the possibility arises this summer. Here's a selection of the best comments.
