Tottenham round-up: Early team news; Pochettino hails ‘unbelievable’ Brad Friedel

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur take on Everton this afternoon in their final Premier League match of the campaign.

Spurs have enjoyed a relatively good season with some exciting young talent breaking through at White Hart Lane, but manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to be disappointed not to have secured some silverware after looking on for that achievement earlier in the campaign.

In early team news, the BBC reports that Tottenham are without the suspended Vlad Chiriches while Kyle Walker and Ben Davies are both injured.

Emmanuel Adebayor is on compassionate leave while back-up goalkeeper Michel Vorm is also a doubt, potentially allowing Brad Friedel to play some part in what will be his last match for the club.

Aaron Lennon is ineligible to play for Everton against his loan club.

In other news, the Daily Mail has published comments from Pochettino regarding Friedel.

The former USA international will soon be hanging up his boots and although the Tottenham boss has only worked with him for a year, the ‘keeper has clearly made an impact.

“He is an unbelievable player; an unbelievable professional,” the former Southampton boss said in the build-up to this afternoon’s fixture.
