Newcastle are one of the biggest clubs of England, but they are in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League today.
Heading into today’s round of matches, the Magpies find themselves 17th in the league table with 36 points from 37 games.
John Carver’s side will face West Ham at St. James’ Park, while Hull City - who are two points behind them - will take on Manchester United at the KC Stadium.
Keys has underlined the demise of Newcastle by pointing out how neutrals used to enjoy their football under Kevin Keegan in the 1990s.
Amazing how the 'entertainers' have gone from everybody's 2nd favourite to public enemy No 1. Shame. Great club. Deserves better.— Richard Keys (@richardajkeys) May 24, 2015
Perhaps survival in the Premier League today will bring a change at Newcastle. Maybe owner Mike Ashley will sell the club or decide to invest in better players in the summer transfer window.
Relegation to the Championship would be a disaster. The second tier of English football is a very tough league, and it could take Newcastle years to return to the Premier League.
