Photos: Rangers boss McCall celebrates with Lee McCulloch after Hibernian scalp

The Rangers boss congratulated his captain after the Gers knocked Hibernian out on Saturday.

Even after Rangers claimed the scalp of Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership play-off semi-finals, Lee McCulloch was the subject of plenty of criticism online.

A search of his name on Twitter and the scrutiny is there for all to see. There may have been more criticism from neutrals or non-Rangers fans on Saturday - but there has been enough from Gers supporters throughout the current campaign.

This weekend, McCulloch played his part as Rangers lost 1-0 to Hibernian but went through on aggregate over two legs, with a two-legged play-off final against Motherwell now to decide whether the Ibrox outfit will achieve promotion from the Scottish Championship.

But that has often been far from enough for some Rangers fans, especially the occasions when the veteran has actually fallen well short of playing his part...

Still, boss Stuart McCall kept his faith in the Rangers captain and was jubilant after the game, pictured celebrating with McCulloch at full-time.

How intriguing for the Rangers boss to now face the side he managed for four years in his bid to get the Gers back into the Scottish top flight. Can he overcome Motherwell?
