The Leeds- target has been discussing the Preston boss.
The former Leeds forward has spent the last few months on loan at Preston and is wanted by the club ahead of next season. But Leeds have also made moves to secure the 31-year-old's services for next term.
Beckford's strong bond with ex-Leeds boss Grayson, however, presents the biggest stumbling block for any potential Elland Road return.
And the Preston forward's latest quotes suggest he will take any offer from Grayson seriously this summer before considering leaving Deepdale.
Beckford told the Mail: "We have a fantastic understanding of each other and that’s something I deeply respect and appreciate. It’s just one of those things that work."
Of course, another factor that could help decide Beckford's future is Preston's League One play-off final later today.
Should the Deepdale outfit secure promotion to the second tier, a Preston stay could be exponentially more appealing for the 31-year-old striker.
Beckford's loyalty to Grayson could be further tested, though, if his side's Wembley outing ends in defeat, as the ex-Leeds forward will be choosing between sticking with his current side and manager or returning to a higher division.
