Former Sunderland midfielder offers an amusing reason why Newcastle will stay up

Newcastle United will face West Ham United in the Premier League today, while Hull City will take on Manchester United.

Former Sunderland midfielder Don Hutchison has predicted on social networking Twitter that Newcastle United will not get relegated from the Premier League this afternoon.

Newcastle and Hull City are the two sides who are still in danger of getting relegated from the English top flight, with Burnley and Queens Park Rangers having already gone down.

Heading into today’s final round of matches in the Premier League, the Magpies find themselves 17th in the standings with 36 points from 37 games.

John Carver’s team will face West Ham United at St. James’ Park, while Hull - who are two points behind them - will take on Manchester United at the KC Stadium.

Hutchison has predicted Newcastle to escape the drop today, but only because United will win against Hull.

United have already secured a top-four finish in the Premier League this season and have nothing to play for.

The Red Devils are unlikely to finish third due to Arsenal’s superior goal difference, which means that Hull do have a chance of winning.
