Many Celtic supporters were delighted with the Serb's performance v Inverness.
The enigmatic case of Stefan Scepovic struck again on Sunday afternoon at Celtic. Watching the Bhoys bid farewell to the Scottish Premiership season, the Serb may as well have been a first-team regular all campaign!
Indeed, a relatively expensive signing for Celtic, Scepovic has struggled for games at Parkhead this term but has usually scored goals when called upon.
That was the case once more against Inverness, as Ronny Deila's side beat the team that knocked them out of the Scottish Cup 5-0 - with Scepovic netting twice.
And Deila was full of praise for the 25-year-old after his display, suggesting he knows what to expect of the forward.
RD on Stefan Scepovic: "He knew what I expected of him - hard work, quick reactions. We know he can score goals." (MH)— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) May 24, 2015
RD: "He worked really hard and he showed he's capable of doing what we ask him to do. Everybody will get a chance in our squad." (MH)— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) May 24, 2015
That begs the question, however, of exactly why it is the Celtic boss doesn't play Scepovic more.
The Serb's final-day performance may have confused the issue of his future, meanwhile, as those calling for the Bhoys to get rid of him may now have reconsidered.
But the fact Deila took Scepovic off when he was on a hat-trick has led some to believe he will be on his way, anyway. It's an intriguing situation and, on Twitter after the 5-0 win, Celtic fans took to social media to debate the striker's Celtic career so far...

I just hope Deila is asked why he took Scepovic aff when he was on a hatter. I'd advise Ronny to answer it cautiously— Brucie Bonus (@Brucehillbhoy) May 24, 2015

There you go. Give Scepovic his cheerio by subbing him. He's away in the summer.— Willie Keane (@WillieKeane) May 24, 2015
I'd still give Scepovic another season to see if he gets more game time. Plenty deadwood to be shifted before him— AM (@annemarie6377) May 24, 2015
Good performance by Scepovic. We've paid the money for him, get him in the team— Chris de Moray (@onekrismurray) May 24, 2015
