According to a report by the Spanish publication AS in March, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has identified Michael Krohn-Dehli as an ideal summer signing.
The 32-year-old midfielder’s contract at current club Celta Vigo is drawing to a close and his superb performances in La Liga this season have prompted a number of clubs to consider him.
Described as a hard-working, defensive-minded player, the Denmark international is certain to leave the club this summer, as per local paper Faro de Vigo, after making more than 100 appearances for the club.
This season, he has been a standout player in his role and also a standout player in La Liga for ball recoveries – holding off Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos to record the most, with 248 over the course of the campaign.

While it has been well documented that Spurs are to target younger players this summer, there is certainly scope for more experience in their starting XI, especially out of possession.
Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb are players with plenty of potential, but their fallibility and inexperience in protecting their back four has really come to fore over the past month or two.
Krohn-Dehli would represent a solid free transfer option, though rumours in the Copenhagen Post last month suggested a Sevilla-deal was agreed, despite no official word on the matter.
