Celtic manager Ronny Deila has been speaking to the Daily Record about the young players coming through the ranks at the club.
The Bhoys boss watched the club’s under-20 side beat their Rangers counterparts 5-2 in the Scottish Youth Cup last week and he was clearly impressed with what he saw.
The young Hoops have impressed this season and some of them have already made it into Deila’s first-team plans, most recently Kieran Tierney.
But the way things are looking, more young players could be turning out for Celtic’s senior side in the near future.
“I saw a very good team, a good spirit and I saw a style of play which is much closer to the first team,” Deila side of Stevie Frail’s young side.
“I saw some players with special talents and that’s really exciting for me.”
Deila has impressed in his first season at the club and the challenge will be to maintain that excellent form year after year.
The players coming through will hold the key to that consistency and having watched them perform so well, it would be no surprise if Deila called some of them up into Celtic’s pre-season tour…and from there, anything is possible.
