Rangers fans were over the moon with the performance of the Lithuanian earlier today.
Glasgow Rangers will get a chance to go back to the SPL this summer, as they qualified for the SPL relegation/promotion play-off final earlier today.
Rangers have had to overcome Queen of the South already to make it to the Championship final, with Hibernian their next opponents.
Despite a 1-0 loss today Rangers had already won 2-0 at Ibrox, courtesy of goals from Nicky Clark and Kenny Miller, in midweek. With the score 2-1 on aggregate, The Gers are through.
There were several top performances from Rangers today. Lee McCulloch and Cammy Bell had good games, as did Lee Wallace. But it was former Leeds man Marius Zaliukas who truly shone.
The Lithuanian international has had his ups and downs this season but today he was nothing short of exceptional in the heart of the Rangers defence.
He was cool and composed, but clinical and hard when he needed to be. His performance was made all the more important as he is a former Hearts player. This win at Easter Road would have been extra special for the former Jambo.
Here is some of the best reaction from Rangers fans on Twitter...
Despite having 12 men, Hibs couldn't overturn the deficit. Jig & Zaliukas were excellent.— Jamie Currie (@jamiecurrie89) May 23, 2015

If we played Hibs every week Zaliukas would be in line for European Footballer of the Year.— Copland Front (@CoplandFront) May 23, 2015

Zaliukas was my MOTM today, guy was outstanding and saved us on a couple of occasions, Bell could've easily have won it as well #WATP— Ryan McMillan (@ryzo_11) May 23, 2015
