One of Tottenham Hotspur's players has been looking back on their campaign with just one match remaining.
Spurs have one more game this season – away to Everton on Sunday – and Eriksen has been reflecting on things as he looks ahead to his side’s pre-season tour of Australia.
The Danish international has played 47 times for Tottenham so far this season, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in that time.
But for all Tottenham’s progress this season, they have lacked the consistency to ensure a top-four finish or success in one of the cup competitions.
That is something Eriksen himself recognises, with the 23-year-old saying, “This season we have had some ups and downs – played some brilliant games but also lost some stupid games.
“But we have improved a lot, especially in the games against the big teams, which is why I am enjoying it.”
Eriksen has added goals to his repertoire this season but he – just like his club – will be hoping to be more consistent in the next campaign and beyond.
With the right summer additions, Tottenham could well challenge the Premier League elite under manager Mauricio Pochettino, with a string of impressive youngsters coming through the ranks.
The trick now is to stop losing those “stupid games” Eriksen is talking about.
