Stoke and Nottingham Forest eye Millwall goalkeeper David Forde

HITC Sport understands a number of Premier League and Championship clubs are chasing Millwall and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper David Forde.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Millwall goalkeeper David Forde is a target for a number of Premier League and Championship clubs this summer.

Millwall are bracing themselves for offers for their keeper in the wake of their relegation from the Championship this season.

Forde only signed a new three-year deal at the Den last summer, but their relegation to League One means the 35-year-old is likely to move on as he will be keen to play at the highest level possible to retain his place in the Republic of Ireland side.

The former Cardiff City and West Ham United man has established himself as No.1 keeper in Martin O'Neill's side and his displays for club and country over the last 12 months have alerted a number of sides to his potential availability.

Stoke City are keeping tabs on Forde as they may need to bolster their goalkeeping options should Asmir Begovic leave the Britannia Stadium this summer.

Nottingham Forest and Reading are also on the trail of Forde as they are both in the market for goalkeeping reinforcements when the transfer window re-opens.
