Report: Turkish giants Besiktas want Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew to replace Slaven Bilic

Alan Pardew

The former Newcastle United player turned around the fortunes of The Eagles earlier this season.

Alan Pardew has worked absolute wonders at Crystal Palace this season. After clearly realising he was no longer wanted at Newcastle United he upped sticks and returned to his former club when Neil Warnock got the sack.

He went on to lead Palace to Premier League survival with some remarkable run of results and they now look comfortably placed to end the campaign in a high position.

It is credit to Pardew who, after the Newcastle pressures, has answered his critics in some style.

But it has reportedly caught the attention of other clubs in Europe, specifically Turkish giants Besiktas.

That is according to a report from French source Foot Mercato, who claim to have some inside knowledge on the situation.

The Istanbul-based club are set to lose Slaven Bilic this summer. The Croatian is definitely leaving, with a potential switch to Pardew's former club West Ham United being mooted.

Besiktas are one of Turkish football's biggest teams and Pardew would be reunited with former striker Demba Ba, who he had during his Newcastle days.

The club look set to finish third in the Turkish Super Lig this season, so European football would potentially be a lure for the current Crystal Palace manager.
