Report: Napoli and Sporting Lisbon agree fee for former Tottenham Hotspur trialist Bruno Uvini

Former Tottenham trialist Bruno Uvini is set for a new challenge in Portugal.

Former Tottenham Hotspur trialist is on the verge of a move to Sporting Lisbon as he looks to re-ignite his career.

Uvini was on trial with Spurs during the final three months of Harry Redknapp's reign as manager in 2012, with The Mail reporting at the time that the club had decided against buying him permanently.

The centre-back is a former Brazil under-20 captain, and is under contract with Napoli where he moved after his switch to Spurs fell through.

He has failed to earn a regular place at the Serie A side, sent out on loan to Serie B side Siena and then back to Santos in Brazil.

Italian website Tuttomercatoweb report that Uvini is close to signing in Portugal, with a €2.7 million fee agreed between the two sides.

Uvini is still only 23-years-old and has plenty of time to get his career back on track. The defender's performances for Santos in Brazil were well received, and Portugal's Primeira Liga is regarded as a strong developmental league for players to develop.

Sporting are set to finish in third place and go into the Champions League qualifiers next season. Napoli are three points off a qualifying place with one game to go in Italy.
