Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that Everton will win Sunday’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park.
The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker believes that Spurs will fail to continue their trend of winning on the final day of the season.
“The visitors have won on the final day of the season for the last four seasons but I think that recent trend will be broken at Goodison,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
“One could argue both sides have had disappointing seasons although the emergence of Harry Kane has been a big plus for Spurs.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Everton to win at 11/8”.
Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?
Playing at home will give Everton an advantage, and Roberto Martinez’s side will be determined to end the season on a high.
The Merseyside outfit will head into Sunday’s encounter on the back of a 2-1 victory over West Ham United away from home in London.
Spurs also won last weekend, defeating relegation-threatened Hull City 2-0 at White Hart Lane in North London.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are still in with a chance of getting a place in the Europa League, which means that the players will be keen on picking up all three points.
The match will probably end in a draw.
