David Ginola urges consistency at Spurs and sets a time frame for success

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder wants fans to get behind their manager.

David Ginola believes the 'missing' ingredient at Tottenham is consistency - and thinks current boss Mauricio Pochettino will get results in three years, according to the Daily Mirror.

The ex-Tottenham midfielder has set a rather specific time frame for success, urging the White Hart Lane faithful to get behind their manager.

Three years is rather a long time to wait simply for results, though, and fans in north London would much prefer their manager to get to grips with the Premier League after more than two seasons already in the division.

Ginola nevertheless feels the future looks promising under Pochettino and wants supporters and owners alike to provide patience - something in short supply at the Lane in recent years.

The Frenchman is quoted as saying: "They need to be more consistent - that is what is missing at Spurs.

"They beat Chelsea at home. The future is looking promising. We need to wait and be patient. We need to give Pochettino time - that is the most important thing. I think he will get results in three years.”

Tottenham finish their Premier League campaign at Everton on Sunday afternoon, with the Toffees looking a much better team than the north London side in recent weeks.

Spurs did get back to winning ways last weekend, however, beating Hull City 2-0 at White Hart Lane.

It will be interesting to see where Pochettino's side are in three years' time - and if they are indeed still Pochettino's side by then - to look back on whether what Ginola has said was on the money...
