Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew jokingly rules himself out of Raheem Sterling chase

The Palace boss says he is quite happy with Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha.

The hot topic on football this week has been the future of Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling.

The England international has reportedly turned down a new contract at the club and is now said to be wanting an exit from Anfield this summer.

It is widely believed he wants a move back toward London, where he was previously on the books at QPR. That has seen the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal linked with the player, but what about Crystal Palace?

Fear not Liverpool fans, Alan Pardew has confirmed Palace have no interest in the player. He told his press conference earlier today:

"I can categorically tell you that we're not in for Sterling.

"Brendan can rest easy on us, we are not one of the clubs courting him.

"We're quite happy with Wilf [Zaha] and Bolasie."

Of course he was talking with his tongue firmly in his cheek.

Sterling was pictured last weekend partying with the likes of Palace wingers Jason Puncheon and Yannick Bolasie in Manchester, just hours after Liverpool had been downed 3-1 by The Eagles.

It was this situation that led to the original question being put to Pardew about Sterling's future.

Earlier today Brendan Rodgers told his press conference that he expected Sterling to honour his contract at Anfield, as reported by the BBC.
