“Yes, he’s the closest maybe,” The Mirror quotes the Frenchman as saying to beIN Sports when asked if Sanchez is his best signing since Henry.
“He has similar movement and he’s a killer as well. He wants to always play and to always win. He’s highly focused and motivated.”
Henry is one of the greatest players in Arsenal history - perhaps even the greatest - and comparing Sanchez to the former France international is huge.
The Chile international joined the Gunners from Barcelona in the summer of 2014 and has had a massive impact at the Emirates Stadium.
The 26-year-old has been the North London outfit’s best player this season, scoring 16 goals and creating 75 chances in 34 Premier League appearances.
However, it is too early to say if Sanchez is Arsenal’s best signing since Henry, who joined them from Italian giants Juventus in the summer of 1999.
The former France international won multiple honours with the Gunners and was consistent throughout his time in the Premier League.
Sanchez has has one great season. For the former Udinese star to be compared to Henry, he needs to have many great campaigns for Arsenal.
