Arsenal take on West Bromwich Albion on Sunday in a match which will see two of the Premier League’s standout strikers go head-to-head.

Olivier Giroud and Saido Berahino may have differing styles, but both men are equally important to their teams, each having notched 14 league goals this season.

Only five players have scored more goals than the duo this campaign, with one of those being Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.

Yet, both strikers have much more to their game than just finding the back of the net, although one clearly has the upper hand over the other in a number of other key attacking qualities.

Goals per GameAssists per GameShots per GameKey Passes per GameHeaders Won per GameBall Recoveries per GameAppearances
Olivier Giroud 0.54 0.12 2.69 1.12 3.92 2.27 26
Saido Berahino 0.38 0.03 2.27 0.7 0.51 2.62 37

As per the table provided by Opta Stats, French international Giroud illustrates why he is vastly underrated by a number of Premier League observers by contributing across the board.

Aside from his 14 goals and three assists, the former Montpellier striker averages 2.69 shots, 1.12 key passes and 3.92 headers won per Premier League encounter.

Arsenal hero Thierry Henry has been a stark critic of his fellow countrymen in recent weeks, and has been quoted as saying by the Daily Mail that the Gunners can’t win the title with Giroud spearheading the side.

Yet, the 28-year-old has proven on a number of occasions that he fits the role perfectly and his presence brings the best out of teammates Mesut Ozil and Sanchez.

This weekend, Giroud will be hoping to finish the league season in style, athough his thunder could be stolen by the excellent Berahino who is gearing up for the European U21 Championships this summer.
