A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Daily Mail has reported that Tottenham Hotspur have turned down the chance to sign Yevhen Konoplyanka on a free transfer.
The winger has been linked with Tottenham in the past according to the paper, but he’s now unlikely to be heading to White Hart Lane after this season.
The paper’s report simply states that Tottenham have gone off the idea of making a move for him.
The Metro claims Tottenham are the favourites to sign Marc Bartra from Barcelona after developments, which saw his release clause fall.
The paper claims his clause is now worth £7.1 million due to the number of appearances he’s made for the side this season.
He’s a versatile player who would offer cover for Spurs at right centre-back as well as at right-back.
England under-21 boss Gareth Southgate has been quoted by the Daily Star claiming that Harry Kane can be the difference for his team over the summer.
Kane has been called up to the England under-21 ranks for the European Championship this summer, which means he won’t get an extended rest in the summer.
However, Southgate believes that Kane has the mentality to be able to juggle all of his commitments effectively.
“He's absolutely flown this season. Can he handle it? Speak to anybody who has worked with him and they will tell you his mentality and mindset is probably his biggest strength,” he said.
