Chelsea and Manchester City are both interested in signing Alex Song, according to the Daily Star.
Song, who has been made available for transfer by Barcelona, is apparently of interest to the Premier League giants due to his home-grown status.
Song first arrived in English football at the age of 17, when he was snapped up by Arsenal, and he would help both the Blues and City to fill their quota for the Champions League.
The duo's interest is bad news for West Ham United, as the London side had wanted to sign Song in the summer transfer window.
Song has impressed on a loan spell at the Boleyn Ground this season and the Hammers intended on making his stay a more permanent one.
With Chelsea and City both able to offer the Cameroonian international Champions League football, they face a battle to keep him, though.
The Hammers have fallen away after a great start to the campaign and it may be that their failure to make it into Europe costs them the opportunity of keeping Song.
