The German has had some interesting clashes in his playing career.

Leeds United officially appointed former Brentford and Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler as their new boss yesterday, taking over from boyhood Leeds supporter and fan favourite Neil Redfearn.

The way in which he has been removed from his job has been highly criticised by those who follow the club, who are becoming increasingly upset at Massimo Cellino's ownership.

However, many are now starting to get behind Rosler - even if they do wish Redfearn was at the club instead.

Rosler played for the likes of Manchester City, Southampton and West Brom during his career in England and during that time he came up against some foes Leeds fans will be pleased to see him going toe-to-toe with.

He is pictured clashing with Chris Powell in a fixture for Southampton against Charlton Athletic in September 2000. Powell is of course currently manager of Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town.

Then there is this snap from 15 years ago. Rosler, again with Southampton, going head-to-head with current Manchester United star Michael Carrick.

Add these pics to the fact he is a former Manchester City player than at least it looks like he is not keen on arch rivals Manchester United.
