Newcastle interested in Spanish forward they can't afford not to sign

Malaga forward Juanmi made his full international debut this season, but has a surprisingly low release clause value.

Summer transfer plans may not be at the forefront of thoughts right now, with Newcastle United still to confirm their survival in the Premier League this season.

However, with their advantage of two points over Hull City, heading into the final games of the campaign this weekend, the Magpies should secure their place in the top-flight for another season.

From there, attention will turn towards signings who can genuinely improve a squad, which frankly, has produced hugely disappointing performances, save for those of a few key individuals.

One target who has recently been linked with a move to Newcastle, is Malaga forward Juanmi, an exciting young player who earned his Spain debut in March, as La Roja took on the Netherlands in Amsterdam.

Getting a call from Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque is no small feat, especially when taking into account, the abundance of attacking quality he is able to choose from.

One thing is for certain though, 22-year-old Juanmi has thoroughly deserved the recognition, during a 2014-15 campaign in La Liga, in which he's continued his growth as a player and continued to excel.

Clearly, such form means that Malaga will face a struggle, if they're to keep hold of Malaga this summer, and for one key reason, which has been highlighted by the local edition of sports outlet, El Desmarque.

Whilst Juanmi improved his contract terms with Malaga just last September, penning a new deal until June 2018, surprisingly, the release clause valuation of the player remains set at just €7 million.

A price which, if Newcastle are serious about their interest, they absolutely can't afford to let pass them by. After all, how many Spain internationals become available on the transfer market, for such a modest fee?

There's absolutely no doubting either, that Juanmi would be worth every penny, given his positional flexibility and wealth of options, he could offer to Newcastle. Predominantly right-footed, but just as good shooting, passing or crossing with his left, he is able to play in any attacking role.

Through the course of this season with Malaga, Juanmi has played most of his games as a central attacking midfielder, although he has also featured regularly as and inside forward, cutting in from the left flank, and occasionally as a centre forward.

Given the positions he's played, Juanmi has also produced a positive return of 8 goals for his side, whilst he's also proven to be an important asset, opening up the pitch and creating attacking moves for the team.

Manolo Garcia Quilon, who represents Juanmi, is actively working towards opening up options for his client and with particular focus on a move to England. Likewise, according to Diario SUR, Malaga need to sell to balance the books this summer.

Therefore once Newcastle have secured their Premier League status this weekend, they shouldn't waste a single minute. Juanmi's agent should be summoned to the club offices and a deal must be struck. Otherwise, the Magpies will miss out on an absolute bargain.
