A look at how Wigan Athletic fans reacted to the news about Uwe Rosler.
Former Wigan Athletic boss Uwe Rosler has landed on his feet after six months out of the game, appointed by Leeds United earlier today.
The Whites confirmed the news at a press conference, with the Leeds website confirming he has signed a two-year deal.
Rosler was sacked by Wigan early last season, with chairman Dave Whelan panicking over their poor form and worrying league position.
His decision to replace the German with Malky Mackay proved as ill-fated as it was controversial, and the Latics were relegated to the Championship.
Rosler had not helped himself by declaring his intentions to get Wigan promoted, leading to raised expectations the side showed little signs of meeting early in the season.
The previous year the former Brentford boss had shown promise of setting them on the right track, leading the club to an FA Cup semi-fina against Arsenal, which they agonisingly lost on penalties.
Part of the problem for Rosler is that many of his signings did not work out, with much hyped striker Andy Delort failing to fire early in the season.
Rosler was and is a likeable guy and Wigan fans have largely wished him well, but a look at social media shows they are divided over the impact he had at the club and any success he will have at Leeds United...
In Uwe Rosler's book he said he couldn't ever work for an owner where there's likely to be a clash again. He's the new Leeds manager!! #wafc— Stuart Alker (@stuartalker) May 20, 2015
Rosler should've never been sacked, still pisses me off to this day. We're in the situation because of the fans who wanted him out! #wafc— Isaac Lowe (@isaaclowe1995) May 20, 2015
