Guingamp forward Claudio Beauvue has told Guingamp Maville that his lifelong dream is to play for Arsenal - despite Tottenham being interested in his signature.
Beauvue, 27, is something of a late bloomer having exploded into life this season, scoring 26 goals in 50 games for Guingamp this season, earning plenty of plaudits - and transfer speculation to go with it.
Guingamp president Bertrand Desplat recently told Foot Mercato that Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Beauvue, with manager Mauricio Pochettino needing attacking reinforcements this summer to help take the pressure off star striker Harry Kane.
Having hit so many goals this season, Beauvue is likely to be a hot commodity this summer, as these quotes from the Guardian show that the forward is looking to leave the club this summer in a bid to earn a move to a Premier League club.
Now, Beauvue has told Guingamp Maville that he does have a dream to play for a Premier League club - but rather than Tottenham, it's their North London rivals.
"My dream is like my idol Thierry Henry, Arsenal," said Beauvue having been asked which club he would most like to play for. "I hope one day my career playing there. It is a dream I have since I was little."
The impact of Henry at Arsenal is likely to have made many young French forwards dream of replicating his success under Arsene Wenger - but it's unlikely that he would reject the chance to sign for Tottenham despite his love for the Gunners.
