Scott Sinclair told the Aston Villa website that he was delighted after joining the club on a permanent basis from Manchester City.
Sinclair completed the move from City and will become a key long term component of the club’s squad under current manager Tim Sherwood.
He has explained the big positive he feels that the move gives him as well as explaining that positive impact the club has had on his mentality.
“For every footballer, it's important to have that stability. I believe that will help me perform better and push on for this great club in the coming years,” he said.
“It's so much different than when you're on loan and going here, there and everywhere.”
“I have already loved every minute of playing for this club. To be a permanent Villa player now is a fantastic feeling.”
Sinclair has been a bit of a journeyman so far in his career and it’s encouraging that he has found a club where he can finally settle down.
Hopefully over the course of the summer and pre-season, he can get himself into a position where he’s competing for a regular first team place.
It’s not going to be easy because there are some good wide options for Sherwood and the manager could make further additions in the transfer market.
Gabby Agbonlahor and Charles N’Zogbia are both decent options in wide positions and examples of top quality players who could keep Sinclair out of the team.
However, he’s bought into Sherwood’s positive mentality and should relish the positive feeling he’s not always had during his career and use it to become a better player.
