Norwich City are scouting Joseph Baffo, report the Swedish press.

Norwich City are showing an interest in signing Swedish talent Joseph Baffo.

Swedish website FotbollTransfers report that the Canaries are one of three foreign clubs to scout the centre-back, along with FC Sion and Olympiakos.

Baffo was born in Ghana but has represented Sweden at under-21 level.

The 22-year-old can also play at full-back, and currently plays for Swedish side Halmstads, who he joined from Helsingborgs a year ago.

He is expected to play a role this summer at the under-21 European Championships, for which he remains eligible.

Baffo's agent Nima Modyr is quoted: "I do not want to go into individual clubs, but that there is an interest in Joseph, I can confirm, and it is also knows to Halmstad.

"Surely it depends largely on his performances in the U21, where it has gone well for him. It is quite likely that something happens in the summer, but we'll wait and see."

Baffo has made five appearances this season for Halmstad, with the Swedish league re-starting it's season in April.

Norwich's interest may depend on their promotion to the Premier League, which would hand them a larger budget for transfers.

Alex Neil's side are in the play-off final where they will face Middlesbrough at Wembley. The Canaries were relegated a year ago and are looking to bounce back at the first attempt.
