West Ham United's co-owner has confirmed the club will take their chance to play in Europe if it comes.
Liverpool currently head the table, but with their Europa League qualification secure via their league position, the Hammers are next in line to benefit with Everton further behind and chasing a ten point gap.
The news is significant for the club because European football would create a number of positive benefits for the club such as increased exposure and finances, as well as improving the quality of the squad against some very experienced opponents.
However, the obvious downside is that it would mean West Ham having to start their competitive games for next season earlier than a lot of their rivals, with qualifiers before the start of the Premier League season.
Hopefully the club can use that to their advantage and head into the Premier League with a bit of a spring in their step, as they look to get off to a flying start in the league.
