Game to be played on Wednesday 20th May at 19:45. Venue: Ibrox, Glasgow.
Odds: Rangers 5/4, Draw 12/5, Hibernian 21/10
Rangers meet Hibernian in the Scottish Championship play-off semi-final first-leg at Ibrox on Wednesday night with both teams looking for a Scottish Premiership return.
Rangers came through their quarter-final tie against Queen of the South 3-2 winners on aggregate, with a 1-1 draw at Ibrox last weekend enough to secure them safe passage.
Hibs have almost gone three weeks without playing a competitive game and will be fresh for the match whilst TV has dictated the fixture's scheduling, giving Stuart McCall less time to prepare his side.
The sides have met five times this season with Hibs winning three and Rangers winning two. Crucially for the Gers they won the last meeting at Easter Road which was their only league win over Alan Stubbs’ side this season.
Hibs lost four of their last nine league games with poor results from Rangers allowing them to finish second.
McCall will have to decide if he wants to revert to the 3-5-2 system used earlier in the season to beat both Hearts and Hibs or if he decides to employ the 4-1-2-1-2 formation used on Sunday.
Darren McGregor only being one booking away from suspension could play a part in his decision making process, with any suspension leaving him short of centre-backs going into the second-leg.
Lee McCulloch is back in contention for the game with the rest of the squad given a clean bill of health for the clash.
The Hibs squad have enjoyed a trip to La Manga in Spain and have come back fresh and ready to face the Light Blues at Ibrox.
