The Dane was happy to see the Spaniard succeed on award night.
The Manchester United end of season awards took place last night. Whilst the main talking point of the evening might have been the hilarious and eccentric behaviour from a, perhaps, inebriated Louis van Gaal a few awards were also handed out.
Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea was undoubtedly the star of the show, regardless of the antics of Van Gaal.
The stopper picked up both the Player's Player and Player of the Year Award on the night, leaving United fans in no doubt of just how important the Spaniard is to the club's current standing in the Premier League.
That was not lost on one of his goalkeeping team-mates and rivals. Anders Lindegaard, who is currently third-choice stopper at United behind De Gea and Victor Valdes, sent out this Tweet in the aftermath of De Gea's excellent night.
Big congrats to @D_DeGea for winning players player of the year - in my eyes the most prestigious award. Very well deserved my friend!— Anders Lindegaard (@ALindegaard) May 19, 2015
Lindegaard's future has been in doubt for some time. De Gea in the meanwhile is being heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Manchester United will know it will be hard to keep the Madridista away from a return home. Tonight proved beyond doubt just how revered he is at the club.
