Kane, Pritchard, Carroll and Dier named in England U21 squad for European Championships

Four Tottenham Hotspur players look set for a busy summer.

Four Tottenham Hotspur players have been named in the 27-man long list for England’s under-21s ahead of this summer’s European Championship Finals.

Harry Kane is the least surprising name on the list given his outstanding form for Spurs this season, while his teammate Eric Dier is also included in coach Gareth Southgate’s initial squad.

Two of Tottenham’s current loan stars are also included in the form of Alex Pritchard – who recently returned from Brentford – and Tom Carroll – who is at Swansea City for the season.

Southgate will ultimately name a 23-man squad for the competition, which will be announced before the team meets up for their first practise session on June 2.

Pritchard has enjoyed a brilliant campaign in the Championship and his eye for a goal and an assist means he is almost certain to make the cut.

It is good news for Tottenham in the sense that their young talent is being recognised but it also means some of those who will be vital next season are now set for a prolonged campaign rather than a much-needed rest.
