Arsenal's Isaac Hayden says his injuries are behind him after making his first appearance in 2015.

Arsenal youngster Isaac Hayden has expressed his delight after making his first appearance of 2015.

The 20-year-old started for the under-21s in their 4-0 victory over Wolves on Monday night, in which Serge Gnabry stole the show.

Hayden is versatile enough to play in both defensive midfield and at centre-back, and captained the under-21 side earlier in the season.

This was only his sixth under-21 game of the season, with an ankle injury derailing his campaign.

Back in September, Hayden started for Arsenal's first team at centre-back, playing 90 minutes in a 2-1 Capital One Cup defeat to Southampton.

With Arsenal having a defensive injury crisis earlier in the season, it's possible he could have got more first team chances in mid-to-late December.

Hayden is an England under-20 international, who signed a new contract with Arsenal only last season.

Francis Coquelin's breakthrough into the Arsenal first team will give him hope, but Hayden's real edge is his versatility. If he can remain injury free then next season will be a big one for him where he must kick on, or show Arsene Wenger signs he is ready to.
