Dick Advocaat’s short and simple response when asked about his future

Sunderland have secured Premier League football for next season following a goalless draw with Arsenal away from home this evening.

Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat has been quoted as saying by BBC Sport that he will decide his future next week.

Advocaat made the comments following the Black Cats’ goalless draw with Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium this evening.

The point in North London meant that Sunderland are now safe from relegation from the Premier League.

The Dutchman’s current contract with the English outfit runs out at the end of the season, and no new deal is in place.

Advocaat, who was emotional after tonight’s match, was asked about his future, to which he gave this short reply, as reported by BBC Sport: "I will give an answer next week on my future.”

The job Advocaat has done at Sunderland is remarkable, and the emotions he showed after tonight’s game suggest that he has fallen in love with the club.

The Dutchman is not used to taking charge of teams who struggle for survival, but perhaps this could be the job for him.
