Derek Ferguson has suggested to BBC Sport that Hibernian are the favourites to win the Scottish Premiership playoff semi-final against Rangers.
Hibernian and Rangers will face other for a place in the playoff final, where they will take on the 11th-placed team in the Premiership to earn the right to play in the Scottish top flight next season.
The first leg of the tie will be played at Ibrox in Glasgow this evening, and the second leg will be held at Easter Road in Leith, Edinburgh on Saturday.
Looking ahead to the tie, former Rangers midfielder Ferguson has said that the Gers need to take the game to Hibs to win the tie.
"If it's purely a football contest, then I think Hibs are the only winners, so Rangers need to go and bully them,” the 47-year-old has told BBC Sport.
“That worked well for them the last time they were at Easter Road (a 2-0 win), when they were really in their faces.”
Like Ferguson, many Scottish Championship football followers will consider Hibs as the favourites to win the tie.
After all, Alan Stubbs’s side finished ahead of Rangers in the ‘regular’ Championship table.
However, Rangers can get the better of Hibs over two legs, especially if they win tonight.
Winning at Easter Road will be tough for Stuart McCall’s side, which means that they will have to take at least a two-goal lead from the first leg.
