Championship-based winger, who’s a Rangers fan, has mixed emotions ahead of tonight’s game

Cardiff City winger Matthew Kennedy looks ahead to tonight’s Scottish Premiership playoff between Rangers and Hibernian at Ibrox.

Matthew Kennedy has taken to social networking site Twitter to reveal his mixed emotions ahead of today’s Scottish Premiership playoff tie between Rangers and Hibernian at Ibrox.

Kennedy grew up as a Rangers fan and played for Hibernian on loan from Premier League outfit Everton during the first half of the season.

The 20-year-old winger, who is currently on the books of Championship outfit Cardiff City, is looking forward to the game, but he does not seem to pick a side.

Rangers will be confident of winning the first leg of the semi-final tie at home tonight, although Hibs will be tough to beat.

Hibernian finished ahead of the Gers in the ‘regular’ Scottish Championship season, and many would consider them favourites to win the tie.

However, if Stuart McCall’s side manage to win the first leg by two clear goals tonight, then they should be able progress to the playoff final.

The winners of the tie between Hibernian and Rangers will will take on the 11th-placed team in the Premiership to earn the right to play in the Scottish top flight next season.
